In a speech at the prorogation of the Hungarian Diet, the Emperor expressed the opinion thai the peace of Europe was not likely to be dis turbed over the Eastern question. A Military Commission report that' the Island of Sardinia is. the pivot of Italian maritime defence, and urgently advise that it should be fortified.
