Presentation.

Yesterday afternoon a very pleas : ing presentation was made by the teacher* of the Foxton State School to Mr Henry Lyall one of the staff who leaves to day for Terrace End, Palmers ton. The gift was a handsomely bound edition of Longfellow's poem 9, and was obtained from our local bookseller, Mr A!f. Fraser. Nice things were said on either side. The scholars also presented Mr Lyall as a token of the kindly feeling existing between them a very beautiful set of gold sleeve link?, which were also obtained from Mr Fraser. In another column it will be noticed that the Football Club did not let their secretary go empty away. Mr Lyall has been very popular during bis two years residence amongst us.
