All classes of steerß and young catUe sold freely. The enquiry for female stock was limited to only a few choice lines and for these lower rates ruled. Three and four year steers made £4 183 ; 8 -year do., £4 4s ; 2-year do., £2 7s 6d to £8 ; weaners, 26a ; yearlings, 84a ; springing heifers, £8 7s 6d to £8 17s 6s ; a fat cow, £4 19s. At Palmer* ston on Thursday the entry of cattle was limited to a few pens. Fat oows and small fat bullocks wt-ra well competed for, though perhaps somewhat easier in price. Fat cows made £4 8a to £4 153 ; small fat bullocks, £5 63 to £6 3j 6d. Store bullocks passed out unsold. The balk of the sheep were made up by two lines of hoggets that sold from 83 6d to 9a 7d. The quality was from fair to good, thus registering a decline in price upon rates ruling a month or so ago The remaining pens were occupied by store wethers and fat ewea. The latter sold freely at 12s Id ,* store wethers made from 11s to lla 9d At these prices everything was sold.
