Flax.
In a late issue we drew attention to the disturbance in the Philippine . Island 3 and suggested it might affect the demand for our fibre, and we now have the pleasure of giving the following quotation from the report of the New Zealand Loan and Merw can tile Co. Ld., which endorses our supposition : — Hemp. — The latest news from London is encouraging. Under date 12th instant our office there cabled as follows : — " Marke has a hardening tendency. Medium ia worth £15 per ton." This improvement is no doubt caused by the trouble in the Philippine Islands.
