From Mr W. Robinson, on Ufcftlf of executors of the late Francis Robinson, saying no objection would be made to the road being formed from Lady's Mile to the boundary provided the gate is left in the frnoe across the road near where it now is, and to have the road fenced off when called upon to do so. From J. B. Mclntyre, offering to purchase the old copies of tbe ScUntific American from the Library.

KEBOLUTION3. Proposed by Cr Westwood, Beconded by Cr Border, That this Council allow the use of the timber to Mr Bauckham for launching the new steamer, timber to be returned in good order and condition.— Car* ried. Proposed by Cr Weßtwood, seconded by Cr Hennesay, That this Council take steps to construct a ground for cricket on the Recreation Ground, and that tenders be called for same, to be in by the 17th mat., and that Crs Hennessy, Osborne, and the mover be a committee to prepare specifications.— Carried. Proposed by Cr Oaborne, seconded by Gr Hennessy, That the Clerk be instructed to write to the Manawatu County Council, asking them to apply to the Government for a grant to assist the Natives around Foxton to obtain medical aid. — Carried.
Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Gr Hennesay, That this Council accept the offer of the Executors of the late Francis Robinson with reipect to the portion of land granted for a road to the beach connecting with the Lady's Mile on conditions named in letter of Sept. 7th, 1896.— Carried.
Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Gr Westwood, That tenders be called for forming 86 chains, more or less, of new road from the Lady's Mile to the Foxton Borough boundary, tenders to be in by 11 a.m. on the 17th inst., and that Crs Westwood, Odborne, Hennessy, and the mover open and accept tenders on that date.— Carried..
Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Border, That notice be given to all land owners within the Borough to clear all gorse, blackberry, broom, sweetbriar, and other growths obstructing the public roads.— Carried.
Proposed by Cr Westwood , seconded by Cr Osborne, That the offer of Messrs Austin Bros, of 10* be accepted for the right to cut flax on the Borough roads for one year. — Carried
Proposed by Cr Henoeasy, seconded by Cr Border, That the Cletk be instructed to write to the secretary of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, asking power to employ a doctor in urgent oases for poor people. — Carried. Proposed by Cr Westwood, seconded by Cr. Odborne, That the old copies of the Seientifie American be sold to Mr J. B. Mclntyre as per bis offer. — Carried.
Proposed by Cr Westwood, seconded by Cr Hennessy, That ten dew be called for the following works :— Re-forming part Coleystreet, levelling and soiling part Avenui Road ; tenders to he in by 17th iosfc.- Carried. The Council then adjourned.
