The chair was occupied by the good old father of local cricket, Mr Blake. The annual report and balancesheet, submitted by the Secretary, Mr W. S. Stewart, having been read and adopted, the following officers were duly elected for the forthcoming year :— President, Walter G. Robinson, Esq. ; Vice-Presidents, Messrs Cummerfield, Eure, Hennessy, Imrie, Langdon, Osborne, J. H. Robinson, Rhodes, Thynne, and Westwood; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr W. S. The Secretary announced that he was in communication with certain lovers of the good old game who had virtually promised suitable trophies for the best batting and bowling averages, also for fielding and all-round merit. After making neoesary arrangements for the conduct of affairs in the coming season, a vote of thanks was passed to Mr J. R. Stanßell for the use of his paddock, and to the Secretary. The meeting closed with the usual courtesies to the chair. We are pleased to learn that the prospects of oricket this year are very much better than we even ventured to hope, and we trust that the players will devote themselves to regular praotice as soon as they can get their ground in good order.
