QUARTERLY MEETING,

On Tuesday afternoon the quarterly meeting of the Primitive Methodist Society was held at Mr Osborne's store. Present— The Rev. 8. Barnett, Messrs T. F. Gibßon, E. Osborne, E. and T. Westwood, re-, presenting Foxton, and Mr E. Eirby, Shannon. Those present then formed them- 1 selves into a special meeting to elect new Trustees, to sign Promissory Notes to cover the advance of £50 from the Jubilee Loan Fund, and to , sign. the new Trust Deed. The following were elected Trus- ' tees:-E. Westwood, E. Osborne, T. F. Gibson, S. Howan, A. Osborne, M. Walker, and T. Westwood. Afterwards the ordinary meeting < was resumed, when an election for Stewards was made, and the following were elected : —Circuit Steward, Thos. F. Gibson. For Foxton— T. Westwood, T. F. Gib3on, and E. P. Osborne; for Shannon — E. Eirby, H. Pollard, and Fl. Pollard, Jr. ; for Moutoa— E. Ashby ; for Tokomaru— J. Millar. The quarterly meeting then invited the Rev. S. Barnett to stay a third year with them, which Mr Barnett accepted, subject to the approval of the Conference. The meeting was then adjourned to; Wednesday, 2nd September.
