Our Paris Letter.
(from oub own correspondent.) Pabu, July 2. The situation in Crete ia becoming more complicated than ever, owing to the sturdy refusal of the Cretan mountaineers to trust the Ottoman Government, or to lay down their arms on any conditions whatsoever. It is said that the representatives of Rassia, France, and Austria have proposed to the Sultan the suspension of hostilities, the convocation of the National Assembly a general amnety, the restoration of the Halaffa Treaty, and the appointment of a Christian Governor. The Sultan's state of mind on receiving these proposals, which amounts to the practical abdication of his authority over Crete, may be imagined, and evtry kind of shift and evasion,
known to the camavilla of Yildiz Kiosque, will be put in action in order to avoid compliance with the demands of the three Powers. The loss of Crete would be a loss of present and future plunder to the aforesaid camavilla ; but if the three Powers are in earnest and support their proposals by armed intervention, the Sultan and his camavilla will give way, as they have done before on numerous occasions.
