A prisoner taken at Matoppo states that the Matabele are inclined to treat for peace. With the exception of the indunas, they are losing heart in' consequence of the recent reverses. The force under Captain Anderson has burned Makorie's kraal, and killed 200 of the enemy. The road between Fort Salisbury and Umtali has been opened.
