Manawatu County Council.
A special meeting of the above Council was held at Sanson on Saturday to consider the applications for the position of Clerk to the Council. Present — Crs Ransom (chairman), Robinson, Wilson, Taylor, Masters, and Hammond.
Thirty-seven applications were re<> eeived, and after a prolonged consideration the Council decided to appoint Mr 8. Purnell, of Wanganui, to that position.
