Three itnpia from separate points threaten the road between Buluwayo and Maf eking. Tbe spread of rinderpest in British Bcchuanaland is alarming the settlers there. After a heated discussion the Legislative Assembly at the Cape, by 62 to 12, granted leave of absenoe to Mr Cecil Rhodes, who is with the Chartered Company's forces in Matabeleland.
