The Dangers of Whaling.

The Tory Channel whaling crew met with a very sensational expertante last Wednesday off The Brothers. The Peiorna Guardian reports that a big whale which had been harpooned by Mr J. Jackson -rose with unexpected swiftness, and before the boat had reached a safe distance rolled over, and with an unexpected blow ' of its fluke laid Mr Jackson senseless on the- floor of the boat, the same blow flinging his sons Tom and Harry overboard, flattening the brothers Norton across the th warts, ' smashing oars and thole-pins, and completely filling the boat with water. The two sons were speedily rescued, being again thrown into the boat by the tightening of the rope attached to the whale by the harpoon.- On examination of Mr Jacksod "Kfe^was thought to be extinct, a large bruise being discernible on and around the right temple. Every available means to restore life was applied, and, after much exertion, the crew were rewarded by resuscitating their much respected "skipper," and, assisted by Love's (the partner) boat, returned to Tory Channel, where (at the time of writing) Mr Jac'ison and the other mtmbeiß oi the crew are progressing as well as can be expected.
