News hag been received that Colonel Plumer, after a sharp contest, captured Lesaba's stronghold with a number of women, and cattle and sheep. ~ The Mutabele lost 100, and tha troops 28. . In the fight in which Tesaba's stronghold was captured by the force under the command of Colonel Plainer, the Matabeles were armed with lise-Metford rifles, and fought liko devils in defence of their stronghold. When driven across the Ingolunga they occupied a strong position among the granite kopjes. The first assault was repulsed, but Colonel Plumer persevered, and in the end the rebels were routed and dispersed in all directions. The German press is excited over reports that Great Britain has purchased a strip of territory in Delagoa Bay giving access to the interior.
