The Motoa Estate.
We regret the tidings we have to tell about the result of the deliberations of the Land Purchase Board as to the purchase of the Mofcoa estate for subdivision. The answer is not unexpected as it appears to be thought the duty of the Government to take care of those who are unable to take care of themselves even in such matters as land purchasing. Thus, through the coortesy of Mr J. G. Wilson, we learn that the Land Purchase Board has arrived at the conclusion not to purchase the Motoa estate, on account of its being liable to floods. .
Thu3 one more "hope has been shattered and under the present Government we need not expect any sympathy or consideration. Mr J. G. Wilson is making one more effort to achieve the desired point and is laying the whole question before the Realization Board, and if that Board would arrange to treat lessees on similar terms to those the Government give they would, undoubtedly, soon get quit of their property.
