Road to Eketahuna.
s » Messrs Nye (Mayor of Foxfcon), Wallace, and W. 0. Nation, introduced by Messrs Hogg and Wilson, M.H.R.'s, waited on ihe Minister of Lands thi* morning (Thursday), and urged that the road between Shannon and Eketahuna should be completed. It was suggested that a sixfoot track would be sufficient, and that tha cost involved would mt be very heavy. The Minister said it would be u?ce3^ary to make bridgeH and culveits the full width for a car t- road, and if they did so, they might as well inaka a proper road ac one?. The estimated cost was aboufc £8000, and he was doubtful if the work could bo undertaken. He promised, however, in view of the representations made by his interviewers that the road would greatly assist siockowners, and would op*>n up a large area of graziog country, to submit the application to his coN leagues when the Estimates were being prepared. — Pott. — — I^ M^Mi •******■
