The Manawatu River.

« The Postmaster, Woodville, telegraphed to the Postmaster, Foxton, this morning as follows :—•• 9.80 a.m. The river is higher than yes terday, and the weather is' still showery. The farmers here are clearing their stock in fear of a flood." The Postmaster, Palmerton, reports that the Oroua, Pohang-* ma, and Manawatu rivers are all rising. Mr John Burr Informs us that the river at Moutoa this morning was within four feet of the bank and was rising rapidly.
