•0 Sir H. Kitchener, Commandant of the forces, reports that in tha recent engagement at Ferkeh the Egyptian allies behaved splendidly. Four hundred and fifty prisoners were taken, and Hammude and several other Emirs were killed. King Menelek, of Abyssinia, hai informed the Khalifa that although they have religious differences, their interests are identical, and he asserts that he ia prepared to assist the Khalifa. It is suspected that French and Russian agents are prompting Menelek. The Standard's correspondent says that the Soudanese troops appropriated the women who were taken prisoners after the fight at Ferkeh. The Dervish camp, with gre&t quantities of supplies, was captured in the battle. Tbe enemy's grain boats havebeen captured, and all the Dervishes north of Suarda killed or oaptured. The Egyptian forces hold the Nile Valley to that point. Tbe decision of the mixed tribunal respecting the advance of half a million by the Caisse de la Dette will be appealed against.
