The Health Resort.

• • His Worship the Mayor has received tbl following letter from Mr J. H. Baker, Com* missioner of Crown Lands,, which explain itself :— " I have the honour to inform you that I have looked into this matter and that the reserve at the Pilot Station haa been gazetted as a reserve for harbour improve* Hunts, and the purpose cannot be changed without a special Act of the General As- . - serably. "^ Under these circumstances I think the best plan will be to cut up a few acres as ' building sites and Jet them, but I can only give a 14 years' lease which must be submitted to auction, but they might be so chosen that a belt of land might be left round them whujh your Council cou'd get leave fo pant. • I will aak Mr Wylde to come down and mark of? the boundary of the reserve, giving you notice of the day he will be there, and you can point out what you consider the bast building site, and I will instruct him to lay of! some sites and mark off thres chains round them for planting purposps. Tiiis reservation will then have to be approved of by the Marine Department before the land is dealt with. Please advise if this meets your wishes in the matter, and I will then advise the surveyor."
