News has been received that the Cretan insurgent* who were besieging 1500 regulars at Namas have been repulsed, and reinforcements are being tent to the scene. Russia proposes to construct a railway from Charjui to Quarki to facilitate an advance to Kabul.
Mr Olney, Secretary of State, has protested against the action of General Weyler, Commander of the Spanish troops in Cuba, in forbidding the export of raw tobacco from Cuba, and declares if this course ie persisted in, the United States will probably forbid the importation of cigars from Cuba.
