FEILDING v. FOXTON.
The above match was played at Feilding last Saturday and rrgalted in a win for Feilding by 8 goals and a try (18 points) to nil. Throughout the first spell the game was very evan and no soore re* suited. In the second spell, however, the Feilding men showed their superior lasting powers and completely beat the local men in the finer points of the game. All the local forwards played well but the backs showed very bad form, P Robertson and H. Williams being the only two who played at all well. Great dissatisfaction was expressed by the non-appearance of any Union referee and rightly so, as the Feild* men seemed to fully realize that the referee was also a Feilding man, and some few of them simply ignored all rules and played as they thought fit. During the game, W. CHesen, a Feilding player, had his collar-bone
broken, and Chuck (Foxton), severely injured his side. Mr Hinohliffe acted as line-um-pire for Foxton On Saturday next Foxton plays the Pirate team at Palmerston. The team will be picked to»morrow night.
