Buluwayo, in his opinion, is as safe as London. It is reported that Mr Cecil Rhodes and Mr Alfred Beit have resigned their positions in the Charted Company. The Transvaal Government has published extracts from the letterbook of Mr Lionel Phillips, one of the prisoners. Writing to Mr Werner, his financial agent in London, in July, 1894, he says Lord Loch stated that be would certainly come if Johannesberg possessed 8000 rifles and ammunition.
