One mile sixtyfive chains. 8. 1 p.m.— Otaki Plate Handicap, of 160 soys. ; second horse to receive 20 soys., and third horse to receive 10 soys. from the stakes. One mile. 7. 416 p.m. — Stewards' Stakes Handicap, of 70 soys. ; second horse to receive 5 soys. from the stakes ; winner of Trial to carry a penalty of 61b ; winner of Otaki Plate Handicap to carry a penalty of 101 b ; should same horse win Trial and Otaki Han-, dioap, to carry a penalty of 101 b only. Weights declared on May 16th (except for (he Second Hurdleß). Acceptances for all Handicaps (except the tieoond Hurdles) and entries for the Raukawa Plate close at 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 21st. RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. No entry shall be received for any race except upon the conditions that all claims, disputes, and objections shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint, and their decisions upon all points shall be final. 2. All protests must be accompanied with a deposit of £2, which sum shall be forfeited to the funds if the protest is not sustained. 8. All nominations, cntiies, and acceptances, accompanied by the necessary amount in cash, must be addressed and delivered to the Secretary, Otaki, not later than the advertised time of closing, with performance, pedigree, and colours of the rider. 4. No entry will be received under any pretence whatever after the hour named. 5. All races shall be run under the Bules of Bacing as adopted by the Metropolitan Clubs of the Colony. 6. Horses walking over will only receive 50% of the stakes. 7. Th&. Stewards reserve the right to alter the day of meeting, the amount of added money, to make any addition or alteration to the meeting at any time prior to the nominations becoming due for such meeting, subject to the approval of the Wellington Bacing Club. 8. Hacks shall mean horses that have never won an advertised stake at the date of meeting (hack and hunter races cxcepted). Stakes paid in full. Otaki Maori Band on the course. Covered-in Grandstand.
