The Queen has created a new order of knighthood, to be known as the Royal Victorian Order. Sir Julian Pauneefote, British Minister at Washington, has betn authorised to negotiate upon the whole boundary question with the Venezuelan Minister. At the Coroner's inquest on the bodies of the children found in the Thames, a verdict of murder was returned against the woman Dyer. In the House of Commons, Mr Bilfour, First Lord of the Treasury, stated that the Government were resolved in any event to pass tht Voluntary Schools Bill, and the Bill which proposes to relieve agricultural distress by reducing the rates on farming lands. The fate of the Irish Land Law Reform Bill, he said, trembled in the balance, and it would be impossible to pass it into law this session it there was to be extended discussion on the measure.
