Flax.
The Marlborough Express says : — Mr T. Branton, who has had some experience locally and elsewhere in flaxmilling, has invented an improved process of treating flax, and is now engaged in perfecting the method in its details. He is conducting experiments by means of patent machinery fitted up at his place in Manse Road. Experts who have examined the process are greatly pleased with it, and say that the fibre produced is of splendid quality, and that Mr Branton has attained a minimum of expense with the maximum of results, to a surpassing degree.
