Disorders of considerable extent are reported from Omdurman, the Mahdite head-quarters. The men of the Khalifa's bodyguard quarrelled among themselves, and in a fight 50 were killed. The Emir of Berber has sent 400 men to Korosko and Murat Wella, and has also reinforced Osmao Digna. The French and Russian membera of the Caisse de la Dette allege that the advance of funds to assist the British expedition to the Soudan was illegal, and they demand that the money be repaid.
