# We now give the items of the pay sheet passed at the last sitting of the Borough Council on Monday and the Road Inspector's Report, unadvoidably shut out from our report oi the meeting. ROAD INSPECTOR'S REPORT, APRIL 1896. Moutoa Road.— John Stuart has nearly completed this contract and expects to finish in a few days, and then go on to the maintenance contract for repairs to roads and claying Johtß[tbn street. ' Main Swamp Drain. — This contract has been completed, also the northern portion of Wirokino Road drain and Symons' outlet drain by H. Webb. Stewart-street Drain and Outlet. — John Andrew has completed the Stewart- street drain also Pur-cell-street and southern portion of the Wirokino road drain. F. Taylor ba9 completed the Floodgate in the Stewart-street drain and has made very good work. John Sullivan has completed the Awahou drain and also drain in Baker- street and ia now going on with Norbiton and other drains. The Wirokino Road has been very much cut up with the metal carts and flax waggons during the last fortnight and will have to be seen to. T.
