FOXTON v. SANDON.

Several members of the local cub journeyed to Sanson by the tram on St. Patrick's Day, and played a series of games against the club there The visitors were met on arrival a little before 11 o'clock by members of the opposing team, and were escoited to the residence of Mrs Anderson, where a sumptuous dinner was provided. This unexpected pleasure being disposed of, the party wended their way to the tennis grounds where everything was in order for battle. Here a little practice was indulged in by the Foxton players, and the first I match was commenced at noon. The visitors were fortunate ia winning every match, as their opponents proved themselves no unworthy foes. A plentiful supply of afternoon tea was dispensed by the Sanson ladies*, and much appreciated by the players and friends who visited the grounds to witness the play. Mr Thomson, of Bulls, proved to be a capital umpire and scorer.
