Artificial Honey.
It is stated that 3ome of the American honey is not the produce bf tlie bee, but manufactured by a secret process from a glucose made from raaizia. H. Hager, the German chemist has been experimenting in this direction, and finds that, by treating wheat or maiie (not potato) Starch #ith oxalic or other powerful organic acid, a syrup is produced which, in a certain concentration, aud after standing two or three weeks- exactly resembles old honey in taste and appearance.
