The Cabinet.

At a meeting of the Cabinet on Tuesday morning the vacant portfolios were allotted as follows : — Hon. W. C. Walker will be Minister in charge of Hospitals, Charitable Aid and Education. Hon. T. Thompson will be Minister of Justice, with charge of the Police Department, which has been separated from the Defence Department, of which the Premier will still retain control. Mr Thompson will also have control of the Department of Industries and Commerce. v Hon. W. Hall-Jone3 is to be -flliniater of Public Works and Minister in charge of the Government Printing Office. Hon. J. Carroll will be ActingColonial Secretary, in addition to being member of the Executive representing the Native race and Commissioner of Stamps.
