Messrs Abbahax and Williams' Stock Report. Our sales last week comprised Pohangina, Otaki, and our annual f affair. Sheep came-forward in it numbers at the first named p), but were generally of an erior description, whilst vendors and buyers' ideas as to values did not meet, with the result that the majority were turned out unsold. Cattle in short supply were well competed for. At Otaki on the 12th inst., sheep were in limited supply, and in most cases fair prices were offered but refused . by vendors. Cattle were freely competed for, and with the exception of one pen of Btetrs were all disposed of. We quote as follows :— PORANQIKA. Sheep—Fat sheep, 6a; shorn lambi, 8 ; call ewes, 23 6d. Cattle- Heifers, £2 lOi 8d to £2 17a ; steers, £8 2s ; store cows, £2 10s to £3. Otaki. Sheep— Culled ewes, 2g 4d. Cattle— Forward steers, £5 ; 4£year steers, £8 9s ; 2 year steers, £2 109 ; cows in calf, £8 to £8 10s; mixed yearlings, 265; forward heifers, £8 5b ; small weaners, 14s 6d. Ram Fair. Our entry comprised some 1800 rams of whioh the majority as usual were represented by Lincolns and Romneys. Though the demand for Lincolns of good quality showed a great improvement on last year's prices, still it is evident that the market is overstocked, and many rams of really good quality were sold at prices which cannot pay the breeder. For Romneys the demand was lifeless, and buyers had in all their own way, except now and again when a sheep of extra merit came into the ring. The English Leicesters produced fair competition, whilst the Border Leicesters, con* sidering the quality of the sheep offered, scarcely realised fair prices. As a full report of prices realised * has already appeared we need say no more. Horse Sale. Oar entry on Saturday comprised sixty horses including some fairly well bred geldings and fillies, with no very great improvement »n prices. The bidding was decidedly more spirited, and the majority changed hands. The following prices were reatised. Unbroken two and three year old horses by Sir Garnet and Papapa, £8 to £8 5a ; lighter backs, £4 to £6 10a ; harness horses, £7
