• ■ On Sunday a harvest festival was held in the above church, wbicl v»wa9 admirably decorated witl sheaves of corn, fruit, vegetables aso flowers. The Rev. George \itkentcnndnctpd the morning service am Mr Cowles the evening service. Th< charoh was crowded on both oceanlinns and the offertory amount* d o 42 10s lOd. The Chancel wai decorated by Mrs England ; the pulpit by Mesdam*' s tteewart and Rhodes ; the lectern by Miss Raj ; the windows and foot by Mrs A. 8. Easton, assisted by Me-»dames W. Rnbin«nn. Wilion Deß.dder tod Miss J. Whyte. The contributers are as foll< wn :— Mrs Trask, vegetable^ ; Mrs Kerr, bread ; Mrs Walls, marrow ; Mn> |> Whyte, vppptdbles ; Mrs Aitkens, fruit ; Mrs Rhodes, vegetables ; Mrp Sitberley, vegetables ; Mrs W. Bobirmon, fruit and tonwoep; M>p D« Bidder, fruit and oats; Mrp England, peaches; Mrs* Lmnprinn, fruit, flowers and oats ; Mi<w Andrews frail and tomatoes; Mr Joe To*,
vegetables ; Mr Nye, grapes atid ' fruit ; Mr T. Easton, apples ; kr Hughes, cucumbers and Japanese plums ; Mr J. Coley, vegetables and flowers ;Mr Easton, fruit ; and Mr J. Cummpt field, vegetables. The offerings were sent awffy by the morning train to the Palmeiston hospital and comprised 2 sacks and 4 boxes of fru'r. nnd vegetables.
