New Zealand Eggs in London.

» A trial shipment of eggs from Wellington by Mr Henderson, through the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, was sold in London on December 20th. The eggs were in first rate condition and realised Is per dozen, the highest price attainable for imported eggs. The packing used was dry hay, and the cases were old ones. The shipment was as ordinary cargo, not in the cool chamber. A report on the shipment indicates that a better result might have been obtained if the cases had been new and the packing of a kind more taking to the eye, but the price realised must be considered satisfactory when it is remembered that eggs were about 6d per dozen here when the shipment was made, and that the cost of packing, freight and commission was only about 3d per dozen.
