Our sale 9 for the week ending were held at Pohangina and Palmeraton. At the former on Tuesday a fair entry .of sheep came forward ; cattle in few numbers. Sheep were slow under the hammer, but all sold afterwards. At Palmersto n sheep were numerous, the quality varied greatly, and those of an indifferent sorb were without enquiry ; good quality in demand and firm at quotations. Cattle plentiful, deolined in value all round, som*classes of steers from 10* to 153 per head on low rates ; weaners and young cattle generally were difficult to place, in this claes much business being done privately. Our Quotations are :— Pohanoika. Sheep— Fat ewe«, 5s 5d to 6*; breeding ewes, good mouths, 6=< ; 2 tooth wethers, 6h 6d ; 2 tooths, mixed sexes, 6s 4d ; aged ewes, 4s 8d ; lamb 3in wool, 4* 7d. Palmerston. Sheep -2 tooth wethers, in good order, 7s 8d to 7s lOd ; others, Gs to Ps 6s 6d ; fat wethere, 9s ; 2 tooth owes, ' 7s 6d to 7s Bd. Cattlo— WVanpr steers, £2 2-» 6<l ; yearling steers, 80s ; mix* d w^anpr?, 17s 6d to 22s 6d ; mixed cattle, 18 months, 84s ; 2$ year heifers. £2 10* ; 2} year steers, £8 ; 8 year steers, £8 12s 6d to £8 16-t ; cows and calves, £8 6s ; fat bullocks, £0 17s 6d.
