FOXTON RACING CLUB.
Training Notes. Flying Shot was the first on the training track and cantered two^ miles slow. Flying Fish and Goosander in company cantered one mile and then went along atraoingpaca for another mile, Goosander had about 9st -up > and Flying Fish about 7at. Both horses moved nicely and seemed to relish their work, bat the latter had a slight advantage at the finish, but there was not much between the pair. Reality galloped a mile at i paoe 1 in nice style.
Stockade cantered round twice. Slumber, who is looking very fit, galloped twice round in a very taking style, and is said to have a great chance in the big Handicap. -*£Brookfield cantered twice round. These are the only horses here so far, but the others are expected by to-night's train, and some are walking from Kereru and Bulls. Tip 3by " Carbine." Plying Handicap. Sedgebrook and Reality no doubt will have a great go for this event, but I think Sedgebrook will win, Reality second, Titoki third. The others I do not give a chance. Trial Hurdles. This event is very hard to pick as they are pretty well all of a class, bat I think Te Uku will win. Handicap Hurdles. This event is also very hard to pick as Rossall, Bush Girl, Nat, Pyrites, and Leander have all scored a winning bracket lately, but at the weights I fancy Bush Girl 1 Pyrites 2 Leander 3 Moa has a good chance and may boil the pot over and pay a good dividend. Foxton Handicap. This will be a great race, every horse in it having scored a win lately. Goosander, on breeding (Nordenfeldt — Albatross) i 3 full sisier to MerganBer, who holds the record of New Zealand for 1^ miles (2rain Sofsec) and has only to be anything nwulike her sister to win easiiy, bus an we must go on form there are others to be reckoned with. Slumber ran second to Aio in the good time of 2min 44£ sec at Ashuvst in the 1} race, Swift won the Warrengate Cup, Undine easily disposed of her field in the only race she started in at Paltnerston, and is said to be a " dead bird." Flying Fish ran 1 mile in New Plymouth, winning easily in lmin 45 1 5-th sec. paying £46"dividend. Flying Shot has shown good form lately, and will no doubt run an honest race, although it is a big taa'i to ask him to carry lOst to victory. Review is a well-bred horse, being by St George — Rebecca, and comes from a good stablff (F. Martin owner of Retina. Wellington Cup winner.) L jcanua, I h j ar, is not coming, so to puoi up I fancy our big Handicap will be won by G -osander, B*t 111 b 1 . Undine, 7st lllb 2 Flying Shot, lOst 8 Anniversary Stakes. £ Wharangi 1 ' Acme 2 Venture 3 Electric Handicap. Sedgebrook 1 Reality 2 First Sight 8 Stkwahds' Stakes. Flying Shot 1 Goosander 2 , Undine 3 Welter Handicap, ' Flying Fish 1 Ls Grande 2 Venture 3
