Primitive Methodist Conference.
The Primitive Methodist Conference opened its sessions at Timaru last week. The Rev. J. Clover was elected President, Mr J. Trenwith Vice-president, and the Rev. W. S. Potter Secretary. Fifty delegates were present. The retiring President, in his address, stated that the Church wanted a more liberal basis than the Wealeyan, Church was at present prepared to give. Temperance reform was a part of the Church's
i ' ■ ■ — ■ — ■ — work, and he urged the abolition of the C.B. Act and the totalisator, and pleaded for the introduction of the Irish Scripture Text Book into the schools.
