The residents are erecting fortifications, and making hurried preparations to withstand an attack. President Cleveland has rejected the terms of the Morgan Syndicate, and hi* i-su< j d popular four p-'r cent bonds, the tjndeiv for which will he received up to February 5 h.
In r ply to an article in the N^w York Wurld, the Kir.h* hilds have s:a ed that until the V^zu-ilan dispute is finiilly settled European capitalists will not invest in American bonds.
