During the nearly four years' service over the Wirokino Ferry, the mail has been delivered every day, in spite of floods. The route by boat was both safe and an enjoyable change to thepasseugers in fact like a picnic, and all who travelled expressed themselves well pleased with the arrangements made. On the breakdown of the railway service on. Easter Monday, oeca • sioned by the heavy flood, this Levin route was -th9 only way open to passengers from Palmerston to Foxton. Five Foxton resideuts were driven in the-.Coa.oh from Levin on Tuesdaymorning, 16th. April, after having previously endeavoured to get over from Shannon, On Monday, the 15th April, the usual &?ach' was run through the flood to Levin as well as a vehicle in the afternoon to kereru, with the Manager of the New Zealand Estates Company and the Secretary of the Wellington Freezing Company as passengers, who /ailed to succeed in crossing «t the Shannon Ferry in the morning. The Coach leaves Whyte's Hotel, Foxton, evory week day at 6.30 "a.m., for Levin, catching the train to Wellington at 8.0 a.m. ' The Coach leaves Levin Hotel at 1J.15 a.m. on the arrival of the train from Wellington, reaching Fo\ton at 12.15 y.w.
