On Tuesday afternoon a well arranged programme of sports in o6nneotion with the local Football plub will be held in the paddock bf the Public Hall, kindly lent by Mr Stansell. -..*..* The committee is an exceptionally strong jpne, and is of itself a gaarani tee that capital amusement will be offered to visitors. Harrison, and Bradcock, have made known their opinion as published in our last issue, and we do not doubt but that the acceptances Will endorse the wisdom of their appointment. It is pleasant to see even such a faint attempt as this gathering is, to provide some fun in our town and for our own amnaement and benefit, and we hope it will be so patronised as to justify some more pretentious meeting at some future date. Granted a fine day, which after so much Tain as we have had, seems likely, there ought to be a large gathering in town where the world will have an. opportunity of meeting his wife, or at any rate where many can meet who have not met for some months. The small charge at the gates, 6d for adults, children free, should bo no bar, as the money is simply in local circulation. The firstjac* will be run at 1.80 p.m. W« heartily wish the energetic secre* tary and his committee a good day's ■port.
