Foxton Borough Council.
The usual monthly meeting of the Foxton Borough Council was held last night. Present— The Mayor (T. P. Williams), Cra. Border, Bradcock, Walsh, Hennesey and Westwood. The minutes of the last meeting wera read and confirmed. The following resolutions were proposed :— Proposed by Cr Westwood, seconded by Cr Walsh, That the mm* ufcegjpl the special meeting of Oct. 28th be not confirmed on account of an irregularity.- Carried. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Or Border, That W. Alzdorf's oftr be accepted for making sitaa, Ac., on plan of the cemetery as per his letter of the 4th inst. for the sum of ten pounds. As an amendment it was Proposed by Cr Westwood seconded by Cr Walsh, That the tender of W. Alzdorf for work at ceme« tery be declined for the present. Tbe amendment was carried. Proposed by Cr Walsh, seconded by €r Uennessy, That the letter from the Caledonian Society, Pal merston North, requesting the Mayor to proclaim Monday the 11th November a public holiday be left on the table.— Not carried. Proposed by Cr Border, seconded by Cr Bradcock, That in reply to Mr Hillary's letter re expenses, that money for labour be not entertained. —Carried. Proposed, by Cr Westwood, seconded 4>y Cr Walsh, That the building known, as bathing Bhed be preBented to the School Committee to be erected on the local school reserve as a shelter shed.- Not carried. Proposed by Cr Westwood, seconded by Cr Bradcock, That arrangements be made with Mr Doherty for the carrying out of contract on No. 6 Line subject to price being not more than £1 15s per chain, aud that the following be a committee to make arrangements : — the Mayor, Crs Bradoock and Walsh. — Carried, ...,•• Proposed by Cr Westwood, se- ! conded by Cv Walsh, That the tender of M.
