Stock Report.

The market for both cattle and sheep during the past week has been of a dull nature and a good deal of stock has gone back unsold especially with sheep hogget?, more particularly at Colyton last Tuesday, where there was a full muster. Cattle were in usual supply. Consequent upon the show falling on Thursday our sale at Palmerston was held . We yardt du p sundry lots of shorn fat sheep that had been exhibited wiih more or less success at the show. An attempt to sell stud rams ended in a failure. A few young shorthorn bulls found purchasers. Sheep were in smaller supply ; of store cattle there was a moderate entry, but no fats came forward. The bulk was disposed of but most of the', business was done privately, the decline in yonng cattle L-ing decidedly marked. Colyton — Sheep: Shorn ewes and wethers, 6s Id ; fat wethers in wool, 12s to 13s 8d ; hoggets, 8s 4d to 8* 9d ; forward ewes and wethers, 10i Bd. Cattle — Weaners, 21s ; hnifers, £2 to £3 5a : springers, £3 16s to £4 7s ; 8-yr steers, £8 16s. Palmerston -Sheep : Prime shorn fat wethers, 8s 7d to 9a 2d ; do. ewes, 7s 7d ; ewes and wethers, 10s ; fat wethers in wool, 12s 6d ; ewes and lambs, 8s ; mixed hoggets, 7s 9d. Cattle— Pure bred yearling shorthorn bulls, £11 to £15 15s ; 3i yr steers, £4 10s ; 2 to2£-yr do., £2 12s 6d to £9 6s ; weaners, 28s. Levin— Sheep : Mixed hoggets, 7s to 9s 7d ; forward wethers, lls lid. Cattle : 2-yr steers, £2 8* ; 2*>yr do. £3 7s ; empty cows, £2 18s ; empty heifers, £2 12s 6d.
