Football Sports.

» At a general meeting of the local Football Club held at the Poet Office Hotel last evening it was unanimously derided to hold a sports gathering on Tuesday, Nov. 19tb, in connection with the club. The following committee were appointed to meet on Tuesday next at the Manawatu Hotel to draw up a programme and to make ail necessary arrangements in connection with the meeting ;— Messrs C. A. Harrison, H. Bradcock, A. Shadbolt, H. Williams, P. Williams, M. C. Bradbury and H. Lyall (Secretary.) Messrs; A. Shadbolt, F. Thynne and H. Lyall were appointed to canvass for trophies and donations and to report at tha Committee meeting on Tuesday nigbi. It will be remembered there was a credit balance of about £3 from the last meeting, and thus, together | with the trophies and donations • already promised and those whieb*' which are to come, should provide a first class prize list. The nomination and acceptance. ; money will be fixed on a low scale and consequently we expect to see the names of all our local sprinters among the list of acceptances. The handicapping has been left in the capable hands of Messrs Little, Bradcock and Harrison.
