+ London. The Marquis of Waterford has committed suicide by shooting him self with a revolver, owing to long j suffering from illness. Count Tolstoi, in a lettor to the Times, charges the Russian Government with persecution of certain religious sects which have been officially characterised as fanatical. [ He declares that the Government have sent over 20,000 of these spiritual combatants as exiles to the Caucasus, expelled 450 families, and imprisoned hundreds, while women adhering to their faith have been violated. The only excuse given is that they are religious fanatics, and have therefore lost their civil rights. It is reported that the Governor of British Guiana has been authorised to forcibly repel any further aggres* sioo by tb§ Venezuelans,
There was a good attendance at the Antwerp wool Sales, but no animation in the bidding. Some 2400 bales of Plate wool were offered, of which 1600 were with* drawn. There was no change upon the July rates for the balk -of the wools offered, but for. superior sorts 1 5 to 10 centimes more was obtained.
