An Inquest with a Bogus Corps.
A surprising story is told; in Dunedin in connection with the disappearance of a Chinaman, afc Alexandra. The constable telegraphed a few dn3*3 ago that he was informed that the body had been found on the bank of the river. The body was conveyed to Alexandra, and when found the hands and feet .were firmly tied together and a stone tied round the neck. There was every reason to suspect foul play. Arrangements were made for holding an inquest, and the missing Chinaman's brother was called to identify the body, bub he failed to do so. Further examination then revealed the tact that there was no human body at all. A sheepskin had been used to make the face, pig bones to make the aniis, anl 'the entrails of an animal, probably a sheep, to make the body. A set of goat's teeth ghamed in the mouth, and alto* get her the make-up was perfeot. Of course the inque9t proceeded no farther. In the meantime, nothing has been heard of the missing Chinaman, and Inspector Pardy, being dissatisfied lea Vcs for Alexandra to investigate the matter.
