on the Malabar <joaat, routed ft dctaahntent of Portuguts*, ana captured them all. The Portuguese Government will despatch troop 3to the placp. The Novoe Vremya considers that unless the Porte gives way on the question of reforms in Armenia, a European conference ought to be convened to consider the situation. The Czar has congratulated the French Government on the success-' fill issue of the Madagascar cam* paign. The revolt continues in Corea, and owing to the gravity of the situation a number of marines from the United States warship 3 have landed and marched to Seoul to protect property. A force of English marines has also landed at Chemulpo.
