The Dean Case.
Green, the fourth man wanted in the Dean case, has surrendered himself. He went to the house of Mr Hall, solicitor, and on his advice accompanied him to the police station, and has been remanded on a charge of conspiring to defeat the ends pf justice; he was also remanded on a similar chaig -i in another case. He had not been out. of town since the warrant w.is issued, having bidden himself in a hou<e in the heart of the cif.y. Hi told Hall he wanted the wh »!e cf the facts brought on in ordrfi- to clear his character. He had n:-vt»r tat n in ('rick's or Meagher'tj euipicy. Ail he had to do with the secret of Dean's guilt was on the day when Mengher was going out he said he had told Salomons about it, and the Hater seemed inclined to bring the whole matter out. Mea« gher ashed Green to go and Bee Peat) and tell him to look out and see the chemist who took a note from Dean to Smi.h, also a verbal meswige adfe ing the chemiist to shut up aboiit tot j poison. That was the first and all ! he knew about the matter. . It is understood that Dean has communicated with the authorities with the view to making another and fuller confession.
