A New Idea.
A new n c for the phonograph has hpen f mnd in Glasgow. M>* Faithful B'£;», tho snccftssful Unionist candidate drhn St. Rollox Division, n«ed a phonograph on the day of h^ poll to convpy his views r-o th« electors. The mashirle, inrmn'-pd 01 a eonvpyance covered wi h th^ candidate's po--tPV3, was pataded throughout the division, and continued to repeat a speech which
had been dictated into it on the pre* vious evening till the close of the poll. The novelty attracted many listeners, who clearly recognised Mr Begg's voice and manner of delivery. The Daily Graphic publishes a sketch entitled " Electioneering up to Date," which shows a van covered "with poster 3 urging the electors to 4o! Vot« for Faithful Begg," and a .phonograph, with an immense funnel, re* peating the speech to a delighted crowd.
