The New Licensing Bill.
Mr Walker, of the New Zealand Alliance, interviewed re the License ing Bill, says if it passes the Upper Hwe without mutilation it will rank as the premier popular option law of the Empire, notwithstanding the failure to securo that the bare majority should determine prohibition, and ho thought the country would recognise the sincerity cf tin; Premier in his endeavour to pass the measure, and in his giving the H ■ ■•m; a free hand to shape the Bill ncording to the demands of the constituencies. Mr Walker ndded thut he was personally indebted to the Premier and the Minister for Ivlucation for the acceptance and support of important suggpstions which he had suggested. He thought that the absolute unanimity of votes in support of the third reading was most gratifying. — Pre~:s Association.
