The Drought in New South Wales.
The atmospheric depression over the Australian Bight has passed away towards Tasmania. A heavy thunderstorm has passed over the New England district, and there ha 3 been some rainfall. Sunday was observed as one of humiliation and prayer throughout the colony, and special prayers were offered for lain, and sermons appropriate to the occasion delivered in all the churches. A few drops of rain fell in the afternoon, and thunder was heard, but soon passed off, and the heat was intense. Light rain fell in the Western district. The week closed with a considerably easier feeling in the produce and feed markets, though there were few quotable changes. The increased prospects of rain towards the end of the week ceused holders to rush in stocks heavily, and there was a consequent easing, but unless rain falls in a day or two it is expected that the market will harden rapidly again.
