MARTON RACES,

The 'first day's races were held yesterday on the York Farm course. The weather was not altogether j favourable, and only between 400 j and 500 persons were present. Great satisfaction was expressed at the starting, which was done by Murtagh s starting machine. The racing was fair, and only in the Handicap Hurdles was there any mishap, but all escaped without any Berious injury. The amount invested on the totalizator for the day was £1.881. Mr "W.
