Distance from Foxton to Levin Station about 14 miles, the road going through the prettiest scenery in the district. During the nearly four years' service over the Wirokino Ferry, the mail has been delft ered eve'rg day, in spite of floods. As showinn TUE ABVATACE OP TitlS ROUTE, OVOy during the week of the lnte heavy flood, the mails and 27 passengers were conveyed by boat and vehicles. The route by boat was both safe and an enjoyable change to the passengers in fact like a picnic, and all Who travelled expressed themselves well pleased with the arrangements made. On the breakdown of the railway Beivice on Easter Monday, occa sioned by the heavy flood, this Levin route was the only way open to passengers from Palmeraton to Foxton. Five Foxton residents were driven in the Coach from Levin on Tuesday morning, 16th April, after having previously endeavoured to got over from Shannon, On Monday, the 15th April, the n*ual C< ach was run through the flood to Levin as well as a vehicle in the afternoon to Kermt, with the Manager of the New Zealand Es^ tntes Company and the Secretary of the Wellington Freezing Company as passengers, who failed to succeed in crossing at the Shannon Ferry in the morning. Single Fares, 4s ; Return (available 1 mDnth)> 0s» The Couch 'leaves Whyte's Hotel, Foxton, every week day at 5.30 a.m., for Levin, catching the train to Wellington at 8.0 a.m. The Coach leaves Levin Hotel at 13. 15 a.m. on the arrival of the train from Wellington, reaching Fo\ton at 12 15 jj.m.
